Context and Motivation

Over the years, working on complex digital platforms, I repeatedly encountered the same limitation in banking apps: a strong focus on transactions, but little real assistance in daily financial decisions. MyBank originated from the desire to rethink this model and explore how AI could be meaningfully integrated into the interface to support users in saving, planning and understanding their finances, rather than simply executing actions.

Project Overview

Over the years, working on complex digital platforms, I repeatedly encountered the same limitation in banking apps: a strong focus on transactions, but little real assistance in daily financial decisions. MyBank originated from the desire to rethink this model and explore how AI could be meaningfully integrated into the interface to support users in saving, planning and understanding their finances, rather than simply executing actions.

Goals and Challenges

The main goal was to design an experience where financial guidance is not hidden behind dashboards or reports, but actively present within the interface. A key challenge was balancing complexity and clarity, ensuring advanced features did not overwhelm the user. Another critical aspect was designing a system flexible enough to handle edge cases, not just ideal user flows.

My Role and Responsibilities

I led the entire project end-to-end, from concept definition to UX and UI design. This included defining the product vision, designing the interaction model, and creating both high-fidelity interfaces and detailed UX flows. I approached the project as a designer with a strong technical mindset, constantly considering feasibility, scalability and system logic.

Design Process and Decisions

A significant part of the project focused on the onboarding experience. I designed a comprehensive onboarding flow that maps different user profiles, financial behaviors and edge cases, not just happy paths. This process helped identify potential friction points early and informed the design of a more adaptive and resilient system. Alongside UI screens, I documented full UX flows to show how users move through the experience over time.
